This simple classic is a great tapa or side dish. You can omit the flour and add a little white wine and butter for a brothier tapa to serve with bread.
Garlic Mushrooms
Ingredients
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup beef or chicken broth
- 1/2 dried chili pepper optional
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice optional
- 1/2 pound button mushrooms, whole, destemmed
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet. Add mushrooms, and sauté until lightly browned.
- Add garlic and saute until the garlic becomes fragrant.
- Sprinkle with flour and stir to combine well.
- Add broth, lemon juice and chili, stir until smooth and thickened.
- Add the parsley . Stir well and simmer 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve.
