Pintxos & Montaditos

An endless combination of cold, premade snacks served on a toothpick (pintxos) or on a slice of baguette (montaditos) can be assembled from a few key ingredients:

  • Hard boiled eggs
  • Sliced dry chorizo
  • Boquerónes (white anchovies in vinegar)
  • Boiled shrimp
  • Smoked salmon
  • Canned Spanish tuna in olive oil
  • Any tinned fish
  • Pitted olives
  • Anchovy-stuffed Spanish olives
  • Jar of roasted piquillo peppers or pimentos, whole or cut in strips
  • Jar of piparras (pickled guindilla peppers)
  • Manchego cheese
  • Aged soft cheese, like Tarta de casar or any Brie/camembert/ triple cream
  • Fresh goat cheese
  • Candied chestnuts
  • White beans, drained and tossed with olive oil and thyme
  • Caviar or roe
  • Membrillo (quince paste)
  • Figs or fig jam
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Pate or foie gras

Classic Pintxos :

  • Boquerón, piparra, olive
  • Slice of chorizo & cube of Manchego
  • Shrimp & Chorizo
  • Anchovy stuffed olive & red pepper
  • Red pepper, tomato, and boquerón
  • Cube of membrillo, cube of Manchego

Classic Montaditos:

  • Chopped egg topped with crossed Boquerónes or strips of pimento or chorizo
  • Red pepper topped with Spanish tuna and a piparra
  • Goat cheese & smoked salmon topped with roe or caviar
  • White beans topped with crossed Boquerónes or strips of pimento or chorizo
  • Chopped shrimp
  • Slices of chorizo topped with chopped egg
  • Spanish tuna topped with chopped egg, red pepper,
  • Any tinned fish with halved tomatoes, red pepper & roe or caviar
  • Cheese and membrillo or fig jam
  • Triple cream cheese and candied chestnuts
  • Pate or foie gras with chestnuts
